Testimony

My journey to God has been a long and continuing one. Of my background, to begin with, my family is not Christian–not one in the 5 or 6 family units that I know.

Born in 1986 in ShenZhen, China (right next HK), I moved with my mom to Vancouver as a “Made in China” export just before the age of 7. In China my dad was an officer in a governmental ministry and my mom was a marketing executive in an oil company. Things were smooth, but in moving to Canada we suffered from the sick currency exchange and a non-recognition of work experience. Because of this, dad worked manual labour jobs to get us by while mom learned English and accounting.

CCF Committee

The following are thoughts and revelation, as God speaks through me, in this current time of prayer and contemplation in consideration of my appointment to Vice-Chair for the summer. A leader in committee is:

  1. sensitive to the needs of the fellowship beyond a superficial level. the sensitivity reflects either or both an aptitude beneficial in visioning/planning and a spirit at work with the care to think of such things
  2. heart and passion to see the God’s kingdom advance in and through the fellowship
  3. humility and earnestness seeking God
  4. teachable and constantly desiring growth of self in the spirit
  5. proactive in seeking the opinions and wisdom of others — I think of the meeting Vanessa called in 2A discussing ‘passing the torch’ those younger
  6. proactive in exhortation and teaching
  7. engaged and determined in empowering the fellowship
  8. desiring to unite the fellowship, to change the campus, to revolutionize… Vision
